Sidhi is a currently inactive student publication from the School of Economics (SE).

Despite being recognized as a student organization by the SE administration, it has yet to be recognized as the college’s official student publication. Sidhi also had no office and equipment.

The publication’s website covered SE-related activities, while its Facebook account’s last major coverage included sit-down interviews for the 2019 senatorial midterm elections. There has been no detected activity from Sidhi in the years following this post.

Following UJP-UP’s report in 2025, there have still been no recent efforts to revive Sidhi.

Current SESC Chairperson Suhail Al-Hajri plans to determine demand and interest checks among the local student body on Sidhi’s revival.

“The result of this initiative will be forwarded to the UPSE administration for them to create a special committee to revive the publication should there be a demand for it,” Al-Hajri said. He added that a publication can be an “extension of UPSE’s service to the nation” by communicating different economic concepts to various audiences.

Spearhead is a student publication based in the College of Human Kinetics (CHK). It was active from the 1960s to 1980s; however, no definite date was stated for when the publication was last active.

“Based sa kwento nila [CHK admin], parang bigla na lang talaga siyang nag-stop… Ang cause daw is parang wala na siyang successor or wala nang susunod na mga maghahandle ng Spearhead,” shared CHK Student Council (CHKSC) Chairperson Joshua Chris Dancal.

CHKSC told UJP-UP that Spearhead functioned as a one-page newsletter distributed around the then-UP Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (UP SPEAR).

During then, the UP SPEAR administration provided funds for the printing of the newsletters before it became indefinitely inactive. However, the publication did not have an office or any equipment.

Even with initial aspirations to revive Spearhead, Dancal cites the lack of manpower, skilled volunteers and funding, proper office space, and the ability to branch out beyond covering sports-related news as main problems hindering the publication’s revival.

In spite of this, the CHKSC Chairperson still hopes for the revival of Spearhead. “Ang iba’t ibang mga pubs naman kahit univ-wide pubs pa ‘yan, hindi naman nacocover yung kasuluk-sulukan ng [mga nangyayari sa] mga colleges. I can say na syempre may mga may somewhat important issues rin within CHK na syempre hindi naman nakakarating kay Kule, sa mga ibang pubs. Kasi nga, in a sense, hindi naman nila nakikita or nasusubaybayan from time to time [ang mga nangyayari within CHK],” shared Dancal.
