Sulo is the official student publication of the UP College of Education (Eduk).

The publication has been inactive since 2024 and remains without formal recognition and funding from the college. However, outgoing interim officer-in-charge Jef Fabrigar said Sulo is part of the Circle of Organization Representatives of Eduk — the college’s “official amalgamation of organizations.”

Since the Union’s report last year, Sulo has made attempts to revive the publication by opening applications to undergraduate and graduate students of UPD. According to Fabrigar, they received around ten applications after a ten-day application period. But with only four to five active members remaining in Sulo, the editorial board was unable to follow through with the application process.

“Unfortunately hindi na namin iyon nabalikan… Naging busy na rin [ang editors]. Hindi na namin sila na-screen,” he said.

“Currently, wala nang natirang active [sa editorial board] … Isa-isa ring grumaduate hanggang sa hindi na talaga nabalikan at naasikaso ‘yong pub,” he added.

Fabrigar, who graduated this year, has served as the interim officer-in-charge of Sulo since 2024. At present, he said no potential members are available to lead the publication toward revival.

Salimbay is the official student newsletter of the UP Asian Institute of Tourism (AIT). It has been inactive since 2016, as previously cited in UJP-UP’s 2025 report.

However, its website shows that the last available publication appears to have been around 2013. The publication is currently inactive after an attempt to revive the publication in 2022 did not push through due to a lack of manpower to sustain its operations.

During its active years, the AIT-centric e-newsletter served as a venue for students to publish opinion pieces, features and travel stories. Salimbay also covered student council politics and broader tourism industry trends.

According to AIT Student Council Chairperson Julianna Comia, there was no sustained effort to revive the publication up until this term.

Comia added that there are currently no concrete plans to reactivate Salimbay.
